When Patty Went to College (1903)
Webster's first novel is a quirky look at life in an all-girls college at the turn of the 20th century. Patty Wyatt is a bright girl who does not like to conform.

American author Jean Webster (the pseudonym for Alice Jane Chandler Webster, 1876 –1916) wrote many coming of age books, with wit and humor along with biting social commentary. She was born in Fredonia, New York, and studied at Vassar She died in 1916 after giving birth.
