A chance encounter with the mysterious Jedidiah Bramble, pulls Byron headlong into a parallel world inhabited by strange creatures, in even stranger lands. Where village secrets spanning 800 years hold the key to a place kept separate from ours, dating back to the Crusaders.

Byron finds that his family have more ties to this exotic kingdom than he ever dreamed, and that his destiny seems set before him. Together with a warrior, a shape shifter and a mystic, he sets off to rid the Erebus of the evil King Malus. On this journey he meets the strange and the wonderful; and also discovers that the Erebus has awoken a power in him, that even his imagination couldn’t have conjured.
