When Beth asked her parents to help her clean out her Mema's things after her funeral, Beth had hoped her mother would rein in her controlling tendencies. But when Beth comes home from class to find the entire house being boxed up, she realizes that she has to stand her ground against her mother before she will ever be allowed to grow up.
