Sticky Fingers (A Macy Strickland Story)

So they struggled there, knocking the table over, when Jason dropped his own gun. Then they struggled some more and that's when Raul's gun went off right in Jason's direction, clipping him on the left arm. Jason let go immediately. Raul didn't waste any time. Before Jason even realized what had happened Raul had his pistol pointed right at him. Raul was lying on his right shoulder now, not exactly the best position for a man in his condition, especially one his size, but if he fired that gun now he wouldn't miss and Jason knew it.
Jason looked at the door. He looked at his gun on the floor by the recliner against the wall, just out of reach. He didn't have much time.
Then he looked right down the barrel of Raul's gun.
“Get the fuck out of my house,” Raul said.
And Jason didn't know what to say. He stole another glance at the gun he'd dropped. It was too far away. By the time Jason took a step to the right, reached over, grabbed it, swung around and got a bead on the old man Raul could easily put a cap in his dumb ass. Or two. Maybe three. Jason wasn't in the mood to get shot again.
He felt his left arm, the one that was bleeding now. It wasn't too bad. He'd just been grazed. It was just a flesh wound really. But it was bleeding like a son-of-a-bitch. He pulled his hand back, looking at it. There was blood all over it now.
Just a lot of blood now and that's when he said to himself, “fuck it.”
The old man fired another shot just as Jason was moving towards the door. The bullet hit the far wall, going right through the trailer wall, clear into the next room. But Jason kept moving.
He kept moving, running towards Macy's car, and he didn't look back. He completely forgot about the gun he'd left behind. It didn't matter right now. Right now the only thing that mattered was getting the fuck away from Raul.

(Novelette) When Macy Strickland gives Jason a ride to the liquor store she has no idea that he's going to rob the place. But when he does it sets off a chain of events that prove to be a little too crazy... even for a girl like Macy Strickland. Word Count: 15,000 words.

“You're not going to jail, Macy,” Jason said.
“Oh, really? You don't think anyone else saw what happened? Or that maybe, just maybe, they might, you know, possibly ID my fucking car on the security cameras?”
“Even if they ID your car, they can't ID you,” Jason said. “You never got out of the car.”
“Explain that one to me, Jason. Because I'm not seeing any material difference here.”
“It's easy,” Jason said. “You just call and report your car stolen. Then I take care of the rest. I know a guy who can help us out. He knows how to make cars go away.”
“Oh, yeah,” Daisy said. “That might work. You gonna part it out, honey?”
“Hell, yeah,” Jason said. “How else are we gonna pay for a new car?”
“Excuse me,” Macy said. “What's all this we we're talking about? This is my car we're talking about, remember?”
“You want me to leave, right, Macy? So what am I supposed to do? Take off walking with the cops looking for me? I'm the guy on camera. Remember?”
“So meanwhile I get to sit here without a car.”
“You got any better ideas?”
“You know what, Jason?” Macy said. “You're a real shit head.”
