She decides to take her sister and best friend with her to enjoy a week away from a world that has turned its back on God. Her sister, Kitra and she had been raised by their grandparents. They came to live with them following the death of their parents when the girls were very young. They had been raised in a God fearing home that believed the Bible was the Word of God. Their grandparents had gone to be with the Lord a few months ago and the girls were facing their first Thanksgiving and Christmas without them.
The girls had been forced to move into a tiny studio apartment when the cost of the mandatory health care was taken out of their checks, but they didn’t receive a raise. The country was going through a recession at the moment and jobs were extremely hard to find. This situation left the sisters working for an unscrupulous man that tried to take advantage of them.
An accident on the lake brings the survivors into contact with a hidden settlement. The settlement follows God’s Word and His Law. The leaders of the settlement feel God is leading them to care for the nine women they pulled from the lake. They offer the women an enticing yet shocking proposal.
