This is a 2-volume set of typewritten and handwritten experimental engineering lecture notes by Professor Louis C. Martin, covering the years 1920-1921 and 1922- 1923. We believe that these were the original, authentic and rare lecture notes prepared for his Experimental engineering classes at Cornell University in the 1920s. Volume One (1920-1921) cover a variety of topics in mechanical engineering, including: caboration, Brasses and Bronzes,Castirons, Coal and Hot working of metals to tension testing of ductile metals. Chapters 24 to 31 cover electrical engineering topics including flux Distribution etc. The book contains a lot of diagrams, charts, formulae, some of them handwritten. The section on Steam Engineering Indicators, a lecture the professor delivered on November 19, 1920 carry handwritten notations written in red ink on the margins. The 2 set of books are obviously Professor Louis C. Martin's teaching notes, prepared and bound in a hardcover format. Volume 2 cover various topics including air compressor test, air flow measurement, boiler test, centrifugal pump test,water turbines boiler performances etc. There are 2 photographs of Air Compressors. This academic lecturing notes are original and authentic and rare. The set was bought at a garage sale on Long Island a couple of years ago. It is an ideal holiday gift for any collector interested in Americana Academic Memorabilia.
