Colin loomed in the doorway to the bedroom. Any semblance of friendliness he’d shown her earlier was gone. He was serious, commanding.
“I’m here for the in-flight services that I paid for.†He said, taking another step towards her.
“What do you mean?†Danielle felt her heart sink from her chest to her feet.
“Just what do you think I’m paying for?†He asked. “Do you think I’m flying Luxor because I like being charged twice the rate of any regular private jetliner?â€
Danielle was dumbfounded, her heart racing as her body entered a fight-or-flight state. “I… I don’t know…†she stuttered.
Colin laughed. It was harsh, almost barking. “Oh, I love when they’re so innocent! I can’t believe you couldn’t put it together. No, love, I’m paying to fly with Luxor because of the famous ‘service’ your company provides. For as long as we’re in the air, you’re mine. Well, ours, actually.â€
Colin turned for a second back to the main cabin, motioning for Roger and Dean to come join him. The three of them entered the bedroom. Colin shut the door.
Danielle briefly considered saying ‘no’, before visions of herself serving super-sized fries and wearing red and white striped polos raced through her head. There was a price for disappointing Luxor's clients, and she was not prepared to pay it. She took a deep breath. Don’t say no, she told herself. Don’t say no.
Her first day on the job with Luxor Airways, the private jetliner for the fabulously wealthy, young flight attendant is about to be taught a lesson in quality customer service by her three passengers. Dean, Roger, and Colin have ridden the friendly skies with Luxor, but that's not the only riding they've done. And now, Danielle is about to figure out what it means to give service with a smile.
