The Prince Chapter 1

Before the English, before the Dutch, before the Spaniards,at the very dawn of he Age of Discovery were the Portuguese. This is the tale of the Portuguese, and it begins with the dreams of one man,Prince Henry the Navigator, of making Portugual richer than Venice by monoplizing the Spice Trade by discovering the sea route to India,and then sailing onwards to find the Spice Islands and conquering them. It was a dream that was to change the history of the world forever. But to do so, Prince Henry must overcome impossible odds by first convincing the King of Portugal to fund such a Plan, gathering knowledge, developing new types of ships, and finally sending off fleet after fleet to discover further and further down the coast of Africa.
It is a tale of heroism, desperation, good and bad luck, and death and of a time when one's man's dream could change the world.
