DESCRIPTION
Moving to a new town is nerve-wracking at the best of times, but for Holly Atwood, it’s downright scary! Holly and her parents move into the haunted McGuire mansion, where she is determined to discover more about the mystery behind their ghostly houseguests. As if this were not enough, strange goings on are happening in the quiet town of Kingston with many unanswered questions to solve like:
• Who’s responsible for making changes to the paintings in the mansion during the twilight hours to communicate desperate pleas for help?
• Who are the mysterious twins appearing and disappearing the attic window late at night?
• Why are the town folk turning up missing one after the other?
• Why are they acting like they’re possessed when they show up again?
• Why has the surrounding countryside become over run with wild creatures? Where are they coming from?
Along with her new friend, Charlie, Holly hears stories of people vanishing into thin air and animals behaving curiously. Suspicions are magnified when Holly discovers the story of a bizarre flash of light and the appearance of a crop circle in a local corn field. Can Holly and Charlie solve the enigma in time or are they too late to save Kingston?
SAMPLE TEXT
Black clouds twisted and churned into a wicked brew over the small town of Kingston. The air became so dry it was as if some invisible force had sucked every molecule of moisture out of existence. Families lay wide awake in bed, hair standing on end. Their cats and dogs perched uneasily by their side.
Suddenly, without warning, a giant beam of light flashed down from the eye of the storm leaving in its wake a huge circle of burnt earth in the center of a cornfield. Afterwards, neither blade of grass nor sprout of weed grew in the spot.
People in the small town of Kingston typically never agreed on anything, however, they all conceded that the four-hundred-foot wide seared area in Bellarouse and Mitchell Haggerty’s cornfield was much more than a freak of nature. Some went so far as to say it was out of this world. Even supernatural.
