The Twelfth of Never

The world is ravaged by a world war caused by religious zealots. Two asteroids could have been deflected if the war had not diverted mankind’s attention from such a threat. A diverse group of survivors of these disasters flees to Triton, which was a moon of Neptune, that was dragged into an earth-type orbit around the sun as a part of the project to construct the hyperspace gateway. There, the remnants of the human race face challenges as they rebuild civilization.
The Twelfth of Never incorporates Larry Niven’s concept of the use of the engine of a spacecraft as a weapon, Adrian Berry’s idea about the possibility of gathering enough space dust to cause a navigable black hole through which transit is possible, Philip Rosedale’s creation of a virtual reality world, and Erik Drexler’s concept of the upcoming nanotechnology revolution and what life will be like on earth when it happens.
