Gruesome Garden

Jennie and Tess energetically played Stanford college tennis together and became life-long friends as a result. When Tess desperately needs Jennie's energizing Master Gardening skills to restore the former splendor of the gardens of her family's Bed and Breakfast, set high in the La Jolla hills, above the legendary Torrey Pines golf course; Tess never imagined what Jennie would dig up: a human bone. Jennie has suffered through a year of agoraphobia, never leaving her own Carmel home and garden after a devastating event, until overcoming her fears, she decided to answer Tess's desperate plea for help. As difficult a decision as that was, she finally left her Carmel home and garden to rescue Tess.
The spectacular Pacific Ocean view overwhelmed until Jennie exhumed a long-buried human bone and a resulting long-buried mysterious murder. With the help of two very attractive cops, they set about to solve the mystery of both the identity of this dead body and whomever murdered him. Soon enough, Jennie finds another clue near the burial site, which lead them toward identifying the body but it also casts a new suspicious light upon Jennie and Tess.
While Tess desperately tries to maintain her timeline for re-opening the Inn, Jennie consults with the cops to help to solve the mystery and clear the good name of the Inn. What results is a murder mystery, covered with blooms, coffee and croissants on the cafe patio, and the unearthing of complex clues leading to a complicated cast of colorful characters both from the past and the present.
