Bar Hopping Thru America

Terry Lyons is a chemical engineering graduate of Purdue University. Fortunately, a career in sales, marketing, and advertising, along with an expense account, provided ample opportunity for travel. Upon retirement after 40 years with Eastman Kodak Company, he decided to combine his extensive hands-on bar experience with the story of the role of the drinking establishment in American history. The inspiration for this book followed completion of a summer course, “Searching for the Lost American Bar,” taught at the Chautauqua Institute in Western New York State.
After a lifetime of patronizing bars, clubs, and taverns from one end of this country to the other, Terry retired and lives with his wife, Babs, in Vero Beach, Florida. They continue to dine out seven nights a week, but only in restaurants with a full liquor license.
