Writing for the Ages: Writing for every age from picture books to YA (Writer Bites: Brief essays on the heart and craft of writing fiction)

This essay deals with writing for all the different age levels in the “children’s” book market—from board books for babies to new adults in their early 20s. We’ll discuss the changes an author needs to make in: length, age of protagonist, plot, character arc, vocabulary and theme.
