It’s amazing how just a small amount of information can make such a big difference. That’s how Liz felt when she learned to cut her own hair and thought “if I’d only known about that special little comb and measuring the hair.â€
More than a method, this book is about a concept when realized will allow you to create and record endless cuts. If you can paint by numbers you can do this too!
From Back Cover
Liz began using this method early on after attending a hair show where she learned about measuring the hair when layering. The simplicity of it along with how beautifully the hair laid sold her on it instantly.
She went back to the salon and began developing and using the method in this book for all her layered cuts. She cut her own hair this way, taught co-workers, friends, and even a few clients along the way.
In general, there are just two kinds of haircuts: layered and blunt (not layered - the hair is cut off at the bottom line only). All the layered cuts in this book are done with an easy measuring system. All the blunt cuts are done by creating a simple pattern and working from it.
As Liz was putting this concept together on paper, she realized for the first time that she was using just a handful of basic cuts to cut all her haircuts from. This book is about those basic cuts and how to cut virtually endless haircuts from them simply by changing lengths and combining basics.
