Football Fundamentals and Techniques: Offensive Line Play is a twenty-page guide written primarily for young offensive linemen, their coaches, and parents. The guide is intended to be of benefit to those currently playing or involved in youth, middle school, or high school football.

It begins with a brief discussion of football coaching philosophy, a brief description of football fundamentals, followed by simple descriptions of specific run blocking and pass blocking techniques. It includes a list of drills that can be used to practice each technique. Also provided is a discussion on mental preparation; blocking assignments and blocking rules; and a brief description of off-season workout suggestions.

The primary goal of this guide is to help young offensive linemen become better football players. None of the techniques presented are meant to replace what is being taught as part of a player’s current football program. If no techniques are being taught, or if they are being taught poorly, then this information could make a huge difference in the degree of success a young player may have.
