Good Neighbors

Fredderick simply wanted to live out his retirement on his little plot of land, with his chickens, his books, and his dragonling. If he could manage to live any further away from people without having to fight for his life every morning, he would. As it stands, he'll have to deal with...excitement now and again.

When a group of strangers appear at his doorstep looking for food and shelter, Fredderick is loathe to turn away the extra help around the house. Their timing could've been better though - spies in the city, and rumors of war are abound, and it's getting more and more difficult for Fredderick to pretend like nothing is going on.

(Winter Madness)
The winter solstice, and all its celebration and familial love is over and done with for another year - and Fredderick couldn't be more relieved. Of course, he still has to trek through waist-deep snow and howling wind to get back home. It would be a great deal easier if mysterious stalkers weren't stealing rations
