Wren's Grimoire

When Wren’s mother marries the pastor, they are forced to move to Howl’s Cove. Wren, naturally being keenly perceptive and sensitive to the paranormal, knows immediately that this town isn’t typical. Never before have her senses been stimulated the way they have been in this sleepy southern asylum. The townies here have an air of hopelessness as though they’re prisoners of their own home and Wren’s intuition tells her that the secrets in this place run deep. Unnervingly, she gets the feeling that she’s being stalked by something that isn’t human and believes the recent death of someone close to her has somehow made her a target. A chance encounter with a knowledgeable traveler confirms she isn’t dealing with paranoia but rather something very real. This mysterious stranger is helpful but the more chance meetings they have Wren suspects he isn’t who he claims to be. Subsequently, she incurs a whirlwind of run-ins with immortals and clandestine groups she never knew existed. Faced by the battles of a dark sub-world that would typically spurn a teenage girl, Wren becomes an unlikely contender when she gains control of something so powerful it disrupts not only this life but the after.

Wren’s Grimoire is a young adult fantasy that chronicles the enlightenment and bizarre adventures of Wren, a family outcast. Wren takes the reader along with her down a road of self-discovery on a level far more challenging than that of her peers. This young woman does, in turn, demonstrate an unconventional twist of our idea of a preacher’s daughter.
