Description
Nancy Evans Titterton was an aspiring writer whose fiction had appeared in Scribners Magazine. She had reviewed books for the New York Times and other newspapers. She was writing her first novel at the time of her brutal murder on April 10, 1936. She was slain around 11 a.m. in her posh Beekman Place apartment, the same building in which John D. Rockefeller resided. Her murderer was a diabolical personality, a true Jeckyll-Hyde personality. In the same hour that he raped and killed Nancy Titterton, he called his fiancee' to plan Easter dinner at his family's home. A very small piece of evidence was recovered from the murder scene. It proved to be the killer's undoing and prompted him to confess.
