Description
Kate intends to spend the summer with her boyfriend, Studs, but when her aunt calls to say she's broken her ankle—and has costumes to finish for the upcoming ballet recital—Kate offers to fly to Angel Springs, Colorado to help.
While running errands for her aunt, Kate learns that the town is reeling from the shock of having stolen pets turn up in the Angel Springs fountain, bloodying the once-crystal waters.
Then a person is murdered.
Kate, a self-declared expert in criminology, based on hours spent watching TV crime shows, offers to help track down the offender, but the small-town sheriff declines, saying she's high on the list of probables.
So does Kate bug off? Oh, no.
