Excess Baggage: The Novel

Chicago drug lord Shiv Thompson has built a hidden heroin distribution center in rural Wisconsin. One of his employees has stolen $14 million dollars in hundred-dollar bills and $8 million dollars worth of heroin. While running him to ground, Shiv's men have killed the thief but found no trace of the stolen drugs or cash.
Tour bus driver and ex-Marine Drew Sherry, returning home from driving a three-day casino tour through northern Wisconsin, discovers the heroin and cash in a storage bay on his bus. Realizing it must have come from a major dealer, Sherry and his fiancée decide to keep their new-found wealth. With Drew's father and his father's girlfriend, the family goes on the run, sparking an exciting chase that takes them from the Caribbean to Ireland to Vietnam, and finally, to Wyoming and Chicago.
Thompson and his gang, including the two Chicago detectives on his payroll, use the policemens' contacts and Thompson's ruthless operation to pursue the Sherry family, resulting in a denouement as satisfying as it is unexpected.
