When Shannon wakes up in the middle of a forest, confused and disoriented from her sudden and unexpected death, she follows a path that leads to a small town full of silent spirits who repeat the same tasks over and over again, completely unaware of their surroundings. She's alone and terrified until she runs into Ben, a charming but cautious man from Victorian England who's been imprisoned in the town since his death in 1894.
