 Sviska and his companions flee the destruction of Elinathrond. The last refuge for creatures of magic is lost. Thrust upon the northern seas, the four chosen Saints of Wura know little of their path ahead but the Galhedriss Arcana, the sacred book of magic, is safe from the grasp of The Order... at least for now.
 Shipwrecking after a storm, the Saints meet a mysterious, supposed half-elf named Kealin. As a warrior of great renown in the islands and beyond he is able to provide substance to their plight to the Island Nation and the chiefdoms that make it up. Following the half-elf to a temple of the gods and a source of old knowledge, they learn more of their purpose. They must travel south in search of two relics crafted by the ancestors of their races just before the curse was unleashed in the age before. Â
 But the path is even more dangerous than they know. Rebellion grips the lands. The Grand Protectorate is marching its legions into the northern realms and a new entity, a mysterious man of fog and shadows, commands a power of magic not seen since the time of the gods. Sviska is not without his own issues as he is forced to face those he has betrayed in taking the mantle of a Saint and that betrayal will have a cost.
