Description
This is a real story about love, sex, BDSM, polyamory and living a life that does not necessarily fit in with our societal norms. It is about finding the courage to take a different path and pursuing your desires. It is not meant to be a "How to Guide" or give advice on how YOU should live your life, there is plenty of literature out there doing that brilliantly.
The author of this book shares her very intimate journey towards a freer sexuality and a relationship where openness and love can roam freely. It begins with a monogamous couple who take the plunge to open up their relationship and it ends with her realising that she is polyamorous, sex-positive and kinky, and he is monogam-ish and vanilla.
The book is about finding and embracing your vulnerability which in turn helps you to develop meaningful, close relationships with people around you, and it is about being radically honest about who you are and what you really want from life. It is about taking action to live a life that fulfils you.
The book provides a look into a world that many people might find intimidating and strange, and it aims to demystify ethical non-monogamy and BDSM/kink.
I am hoping that couples who are having a hard time because one wants to open up and the other one does not can read this book together and share their thoughts, communicate about what it is exactly they are afraid of. In relation more specifically to BDSM, I hope that I manage to show that it is not a world full of emotionally unstable people who do extreme things, but instead a group of people who are curious enough to experiment in unusual ways. If you are not both into BDSM, there are ways of navigating your differences and learning to accept each other the way you are.
There are no handsome, emotionally fucked up billionaires flying around in helicopters. This is real and intimate. It is honest and raw.
A review from a happy reader:
“It is like reading a stream of consciousness diary... deeply personal and heartfelt. It is not a manual on polyamory nor an introduction into BDSM. It feels deeply personal and shows their emotional vulnerability.
It feels like someones diary, their personal journey of discovery. Discovery of their sexuality, of their authentic self. It is a compelling and easy to read. It draws you in with titillating details and personal anecdotes.
The book spans several countries and years and shows a journey into the discovery of BDSM. I am somewhat ambivalent about the BDSM component of the book as there are some potentially dangerous situations that could have arisen. However, it was a thoroughly enjoyable book.â€
