MEMOIRS OF APOLITICAL BHUTTO

My parents would call me “Gamo Sachaar” (Truthful Gamo) without telling me who that Gamo was in reality. Perhaps this was my inborn characteristic which distinguished me from others in the family. Whenever I tried to conceal the truth for some expediency, my earlobes would turn red, and I would be caught on the ‘weak wicket’. This Book is also based on truth; the whole truth, and nothing but the truth-and so has God helped me.
I am of the firm belief that my character, struggles, achievements and failures, from sunshine to twilight of my life (now crossing 72 years) have been shaped and guided by my ‘Destiny’. Had it not been so, I would have never risen from the rank and file, as an ordinary clerk in 1957 and reach the height of civil service to retire as Secretary to the Government of Pakistan in 2003.
