Description
Evel Knievel's attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon was delayed several years from date of Labor Day 1972. When it eventually happened on September 8, 1974 the famed motorcycle stuntman received $6 million from closed circuit television promoters to make the jump. The stunt vehicle was a steam powered X-2 rocket that was designed by Robert Truax, an engineer who had assisted in the making the Polaris missile. 30,000 spectators assembled in the canyon near Twin Falls, Idaho. My e-book was written using newspapers from 1974 along with books that chronicle Evel Knievel's life and many fantastic experiences as a talented showman.
