The setting takes place in the problematic future, after humans failed to secure any chance of life continuing on the planet Earth, they sought out into space for a new home, encouragingly naming it Hope. Though their efforts for living alongside nature and fulfilling a balance of life, the planet was incapable of sustaining itself. Pieced together into one large space transporter, built from the ships that carried the original Earth pilgrims, Excalibur launched out into the unknown of space, traveling a tremendous speed, ever-watching for what could be a new home.
Hope follows the first person account of Spence and his thoughts as he and all of those around him fair the consequences of abandoning their dying planet, and who they encounter along the journey. The loss of Spence's younger sister, Mira, was the hardest emotional battle that he assumed he would ever have to face. Unfortunately for him, he becomes aware that there is much worse situations in store.
