Captain Traven is having the worst luck. First some kid steals his horse, and then he is accused of treason. Then a lady he meets in his sleep convinces him to abandon his post and take the kid to the dangerous Shadow Mountains. As he drags the kid across the country by day with everybody and his brother trying to kill him, and stealing kisses from his DreamLady at night, Traven prays that she is real and not just a figment of his imagination.
