Unintended Consequences

For young Ty Lane, life couldn't be better. The simple life that he lived included only a one room cabin, a horse named Nell and a sometimes girlfriend named Jan. The time between the wars saw so many single men living alone in isolated areas of the country, living off the land and under the stars They were characters in the purest sense. Their actions were unpredictable and spur of the moment. Their needs were simple and paid for buy an occasional odd day job.
This was Ty's dream for the perfect life. He chose to associate with those who had succeeded at that very lifestyle. He planned on nothing changing that, until his circumstances changed and handed him a complete turnabout on his life. His only constant was Nell. When all was said and done, he had lost Jan, who decided on a life with a female companion and he found love with Trudy, a feisty little number who thought the world of him. Trudy proved a handful. Her looks were distracting and at the same time deceiving. He gave up his nights of sleeping under the stars to sleeping under a roof and giving up the life of a pauper to one of chasing down and capturing escaped prisoners of war, for their bounty.
As lucrative as that was, it did prove life threatening as the last one captured was sent to the hospital after a severe hit by Ty. Worrying about the consequences of Ty's actions, Ty's identity was kept from the prisoner, by the Sheriff. But upon his escape, he once again threatened to kill the one who seriously injured him. Ty must use all his abilities to save himself and those who he loves.
In the end, the one person who kept the prisoner in their lives was the one to end the threat.
