Milly Lawes, a Piccadilly streetwalker, has been sort of a friend of Martin, and when she is found dead after she found a strange ring in her room one day he can’t let it go. The ring is gone. Scotland Yard knew about it though, and so did the Secret Service. The thought of Milly’s cut throat and of the blood that soaked her bed is enough to send Martin off on a trail of murder and sabotage, in order to get the criminals behind the ring and the world of terror they ruled.
