Amplitude modulation (AM) and Frequency Modulation (FM) are methods of broadcasting radio signals. They both transmit information in the form of electromagnetic waves (EM). AM works by varying (modulating) the amplitude of the signal transmitted according to the information being sent while the frequency remains constant. FM on the other hand, is where information (sound) is encoded by varying the frequency of the wave and the amplitude is kept constant. Power Spectra Density describes the signal power distribution over the frequency.
