Chapter 3: Most People Don’t Know How to Visualization
It took me a while to really understand how to visualize properly. I had even written my first book on the law of attraction before I learnt this. A lot of people daydream, or just throw random images at the screen of their minds without adding emotions to it. And also, most people visualize like they are watching a movie of themselves, while they are meant to be IN THE MOVIE. You don’t get it? I’ll take time to explain.
First of all, you can’t just daydream and believe you would get what you want embed unto subconscious mind. The subconscious mind works with images and emotions. For you successfully embed your goal (whether a money goal, or a weight loss goal, or a career goal) on your subconscious mind, you have to accompany your images with emotions. Think about it; when you’re watching a horror movie and it gets to a frightening scene, you react EMOTIONALLY by jumping in your seat or screaming. You reacted emotionally, even though consciously, you know that what is happening in the movie IS NOT REAL. So, why would you now want to throw random images on the screen of your mind without adding emotions to them?
This is one of the reasons why I always ask people to go for goals they are really passionate about. If you are not passionate about your goal and you just want to achieve it to please your parents, or to fit into the society, or because everyone else is getting that thing, it would be hard to add emotions to your goals. Every image you throw up on the screen of your mind must be consistently thrown up on that screen, and must be consistently accompanied with the right emotions to go along with it. If you throw up the image of you driving that brand new car you want, you have to find a way of making yourself feel joy, enthusiasm, and satisfaction as you drive that car in your mind. If you visualize yourself having that body size you want, you have to trigger the emotion of happiness within yourself as you view that new YOU in your head.
This is not all in this segment; there is a little more. You have to also visualize FROM your goal, and not OF IT. I learnt this late, but it speeds things up, and makes your goals achievable faster. How do you think from your goal? You have to visualize as if you are living in that goal, and not just thinking of it. For example, if you are thinking of owning a brand new car, don’t visualize by seeing yourself from an angle of watching a future camera recording of yourself, like watching from a distant. You have to visualize it as if you are watching from your own eyes in that imaginative state. I hope I haven’t lost you. Please, make sure you read this part over and over a couple of times.
Let me explain further. Let’s say you want to own a new car, and you are driving that car in your visualization session, make sure not to feed your mind’s screen with images of the car moving off with you inside it; you have to feed your mind with images of the dashboard, the steering wheel, and the view looking ahead through the windshield. This way, you are actually LIVING your dream, and experiencing it first hand, not from a distance. This way, you are thinking FROM your goal, and not OF IT...
