Hypoglycaemia has been blamed for everything from suicide to violent crime; from depression to traffic accidents. Hypoglycaemia is a condition – a symptom of some sort of imbalance in the endocrine system – and not a disease. Although potentially dangerous for a variety of reasons, it is beatable. This mini-series of books is designed to help sufferers deal with this condition by giving clear instruction from a physical, dietary and psychological standpoint. It is also designed to give sufferers encouragement.
It is presented as information sent from one friend to another. Each letter starts with a cartoon that sets the tone for the letter. Throughout humour is used to make the counsel and advice go down with a spoon full of … well, I guess we can’t use sugar. =D
Since those who suffer from hypoglycaemia tend to have shorter attention spans, it is broken into 15 segments, each of which contains information on a variety of topics including recipes that are basically safe for most hypoglycaemia suffers.
The author is a life-time member of l’Association des hypoglycémiques du Québec in consideration for the work that he has done for the association. His research includes alternative medicine, traditional medicine, vitamin manuals and more.
