VISITING DAY: A SHORT STORY

Ruth Ellis was the last woman to be hanged in Britain. She was executed on 13th July, 1955, in Holloway Womens' Gaol for the murder of her lover, David Blakely. This short story is set in Holloway Womens' Prison during Visiting Time. A few days before the execution, the fictional characters of Marlene Reed and her mother Gladys Hollingsworth discuss the condemned woman, among other things.
