Shame & Grandiosity is a short testimony of my life as a non-straight man as seen through the lens of Alan Down's revelatory work "The Velvet Rage: Overcoming the Pain of Growing Up Gay in a Straight Man's World." It is part of the oral history I began when I enrolled in a Masters program at the Pacific School of Religion in 2010. It was also my final presentation in my preaching class. And boy did those kids have no idea what hit them.
