Midnight Whispers

Set in the colonial era, Midnight Whispers is, quite simply, a beautifully written love story with a historical context and laced with action, adventure and comedy. Central to the story is the relationship between Cathrynn and Duncan, a relationship that quickly evolves from owner-servant into friendship and, ultimately, love. Many authors might have felt the need to force this process along, but Lynette Marie's characters are so real and well developed that they carry the story along with only the slightest of effort. This is the mark of a talented author.
Marie's style of prose is quite captivating. She has a great sense of her characters' motivations, needs and behaviors and portrays them with great sensitivity. Although Midnight Whispers is bound to appeal to any fan of classic romance, it has enough plot twists, action and humor to engage any fan of great storytelling.
