Why do young, innocent women leave their beloved families, their homes and their country?

Although she finished her undergraduate degree with honors, Jill, a single mother, fails to find work that will provide a decent life for her family. She is forced to find work abroad and to leave her beloved daughter in the care of her mother in Manila.

Liza discovers her father’s deep, dark secret and her anger at his betrayal drives her to leave home as soon as she can.

Growing up in a dreary rural town where her father ekes out a living as a tenant-farmer, Verne dreams of one day becoming a professor and helping her parents and siblings overcome the squalor of poverty.

All three women leave home and eventually make their way to London. They meet and become the best of friends. Their deep friendship will be their balm for loneliness; it will make their stay in the foreign land not only bearable but more worthwhile and enjoyable. And without realizing it, they will play an important role in changing each other’s future.
