When Canadian detective Denis DeGrace, on holiday at a resort at Thailand's fashionable Hua Hin, the place where Thai royalty spend their summers, he walks into the middle of a large diamond theft. The diamonds, worth $40 to $50 million, have suddenly disappeared from the resort's safe -- without anything for DeGrace to go on. He has less than 24 hours to solve the mystery before the owners of the jewels come for them.
