Synopsis
Despite having a life most people would have coveted, I was not a hundred percent satisfied. I had always longed for a daughter, thinking that having one would complete me. I already had two beautiful sons when my wish for a daughter was granted via an adoption. Unknown to my husband and me, the daughter we were bestowed with is a special needs child. From the first day we laid eyes on her, she was plagued with one health complication after another. The first six months of her life were spent in various hospitals as I searched for a cure for her ailments.
This book covers the first few months of my daughter’s life as she struggled to stay alive and I struggled to come to terms with what God had bequeathed upon me. It presents my thoughts as I processed and tried to cope with what was happening in my life in those three months – from the day we first heard about her up to the moment I finally accepted my daughter for what she is and the fact that my life would never be the same again.
