Self-Reliance

This is a theatre script using words from Ralph Waldo Emerson's piece Self-Reliance.

This play is designed for a community or high school setting (with modifications) and can be performed as a one act, one scene dialogue. The scene is set in an alpine meadow with two hikers, Emerson and a woman friend who is very much in love with him.

The script is written in such a way that the play can be presented in an hour. The role of the woman can be modified to best fit the venue and the audience. The more amorous temptress aspects in the script can be toned down.
