Former defense attorney Layla Evans has traded in her heels and her briefcase for jeans and cowboy boots. After recently inheriting a ranch in rural Virginia from her estranged father she hopes that the quiet life of a rancher will help ease the painful memories of what should have been the biggest case of her career. The careful balance she has finally stuck between normalcy and insanity is threatened when vandals begin destroying her property. Meeting the reclusive Ben Callahan, a man obviously tormented by demons of his own just serves to tip that balance even further towards insanity.
