Description

Phil Strickland, a native of Louisiana, and Texan Dan Buford, both recently retired from the FBI Los Angeles Field Division, move to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and opened a Private Investigation business. New clients sought their services and almost immediately they become involved in a case of a missing young woman. In time, word spreads, and additional young women are identified and investigated as missing under questionable circumstances.

Meanwhile, both Phil and Dan establish a cooperative working relationship with local police jurisdictions. Phil had established a reputation in the FBI as a Police Instructor, specializing in incendiary and explosive devices. Dan enjoyed a nation-wide reputation in the Behavioral Unit as an FBI Criminal Profiler. Their experience and expertise were just what was needed to solve the case of the missing women.

During the years that Phil had served in the FBI, Baton Rouge had changed considerably. But upon his return, he discovered that a few relics of the past had not change, including the old abattoir or slaughterhouse. A coincidental find of personal property sheds new insight into the mayhem that had occurred within the old decaying and dilapidated building.
