The First Last Page: How I managed not to write a novel

I tried to write! It should have been easy! Pick a category, define a subject, choose a style and go for it! Pen to paper, chapter by chapter until, with a feeling of accomplishment I am finished, published, lauded, rich, famous! Everything was planned, considered, laid out, until fate stepped in and my career as an author tripped, tumbled and fell screaming into the mess that would become the mud mire of my life! There are moments in ones existence when we have a choice between two doors leading to completely different outcomes! Left leads to fame, success and all the stuff everyone else has that you wish was yours. The right bankruptcy, mediocrity and all your stuff being stolen by everyone else for themselves! My two doors were both to the right! I tried to write! Stupid idea! Sigh!
