Peacock Johnson’s forgotten his wife’s birthday. Again. But that’s alright—Peacock’s an ideas-man, and he’s got a plan to cover up his mistake.

Unfortunately, Peacock’s plan goes so far off the rails that his wife leaves him, and he ends up the prime suspect in a murder inquiry.

Not to worry: Peacocks got another idea. He’s found out where the famous crime writer Ian Rankin lives, and he’s going to break into Rankin’s house and ‘persuade’ him to work out who really committed the murder Peacock’s been accused of.

What could possibly go wrong?

Follow Peacock’s hilarious attempts at trying to clear his name and win his wife back in this laugh-out-loud comedy. As Ian Rankin himself said in The Independent, after reading the book, “I came across as a bit of a wimp, but it was good. It was also, in current parlance, a mindf**k. You think, 'Hang on, if he's not real, and I am real, maybe he's real and I'm not real...'"

So come on in and enjoy the fun, as Peacock careers from disaster to disaster.
