Pilgrimage

The human race lives in solitude, far away from the other races of the world.
There was a time, now a vague memory from the past, when they lived in peaceful tolerance. But inevitably, as certain as the passage of time, that peace was shattered by violent persecution.
Humans were marked for death, hunted and executed wherever they were found.
They fled into the undiscovered world on a great exodus, and in time found a new home. It was a place where they could be free and start over, a place where they could live in peace, unburdened by old prejudices.
In time they yearned for knowledge of the lands across the ocean, for most had forgotten the stories of the past. That desire led to the birth of the pilgrimage.
Only those deemed worthy were allowed to journey on the pilgrimage, and their search for knowledge would see them return home many years later with tales of the lands and people from across the ocean.
Litch is one such boy who is granted the right to leave on this great journey.
Told in his own words, Pilgrimage is the tale of how he ventures across the ocean and into the unknown.
He soon discovers that life away from his home comforts is a dangerous one, and finds himself on a path that will change the world forever.
