Crossing Over: A Journey Into The Afterlife

A SHORT STORY. Terrorists have released the dreaded Ebola virus and if Dr. Carl Withers can't retrieve vital information from a colleague who's been dead for months, the entire world will suffer. No one actually believes Carl can pull his mission off—crossing over to the other side to find JoAnne Keller; the only soul who knows the location of the serum vials Carl needs to counteract the virus.

Politicians and military personnel are sending their families to remote areas of the world, trying to ensure their safety, despite knowing there won't be a safe spot on Earth once the Ebola virus takes hold.

After he has flat-lined, Dr. Withers meets up with Jeffries, a flippant chap standing guard in Purgatory. Following a verbal joust, Jeffries realizes he can't detain Carl any longer because the good doctor isn't technically dead.

As time ticks off the clock, Carl searches the cosmos for Dr. Keller, praying he can get the information he needs and return in time to save the world from a devastating fate.
