The Hitcher - Anywhere but here: Part 1 of 2

Blake Harding and his young family are heading across the country, intending to make it to San Francisco from Florida. Although their vacation hasn’t yet been ideal, they’re about to realize that the injured hitchhiker can make situations go from merely difficult to impossible within a heartbeat. Not much is known about Cassie and she is reluctant to reveal her metaphysical powers during their imposed stay at the Nevada wasteland motel.

Similarly, the motel manager and the RV Park owner across the deserted highway are involved in some mystery of their own, only sharing secrets with patrons who have outlasted their welcome or violated strictly imposed rules. The unusual high basin weather is also not cooperating, forcing everybody to sit tight until the rare rains and flooding subside.

Soon trapped and already superstitious, Blake must not only determine what Cassie really is, but then find her before she again strikes. The consequences of his actions or inaction could not only greatly impact his family, but also other motel guests. According to the old quip, “Timing is everything…”, he’s about to discover that it’s not merely important, but also critical.
