Writer Interview.

Ray, where did you get the idea?.

"I wondered what could happen if the proposed commercial system of organ pre-sales became a reality. A frightening corporate entity which could prolong life at will for those who subscribed, aided and abetted it would find powerful followers overnight."

Why did you use Bombay Blood?.

"Anyone with Bombay Blood cannot receive blood or organs unless they are a perfect match. Making them rare, special. I thought, what a seed for a thriller. The result? Made me shiver as I wrote it."

Who is this novel for?.

"If you love Jack Reacher, or legal and medical thrillers. Action with a strong female character with amazing skills who has to take on the world, this is for you."

Did it involve much research?.

"It never seemed to end, but it was fun. I wanted to take readers to places they had never been, and create a scenario as realistic as possible. So yeah, it was six months of boots on the ground research before I started to write and more after. I met with curators at the United States Supreme Court, retired Secret Service agents and Medical Doctors. A novel based on such a realistic future with terrifying implications really seized the imagination of those involved. They were very enthusiastic."
