Description

Phoenix Altman has a questionable taste in men: case in point, Baxter Loitte, who decided to kidnap her after she broke up with him. But Phoenix Altman also has a best friend: April Carter. After reaching out to her, Randy Sattely sends three men to get her back and catch Baxter, but he manages to escape.
Rylan Campbell helps get Phoenix to safety, but Baxter escapes; the plan? Pose as a couple so that Baxter will snap, make a move and get caught. The hitch? The attraction between Phoenix and Rylan is undeniable - but walls are built and too much can be lost if they give in to their desires.

Warning: There are explicit romantic scenes. For mature audiences (+18).

Excerpt
Phoenix Altman had terrible taste in boyfriends; at least she had friends she could count on to help her out.
Take April Carter, for example.
Because Baxter Loitte, Phoenix’s boyfriend of three-odd years, had decided to kidnap her. The selfish, controlling, egotistical idiot.
How had she been so blind?
Seriously.
Everything had been fine on the surface, just a few jealous comments, a few times where he’d demanded her attention…but she’d missed all the signs. At least, she’d missed them until it had gone too far.
Clearly.
Her sisters and best friend had voice their concerns over Baxter’s manipulative and controlling ways, some more vocal than others, but she’d been dismissive as what she’d thought was loving attention had grown into something a lot more twisted.
Anyways, now was not the tie for regrets.
Lucky for her, Baxter wasn’t the brightest light-bulb in the room and her hands were tied in front of her.
Yes, she was in the back of Baxter’s SUV as he drove along the highway to wherever he wanted to go, but Phoenix wasn’t about to freak out.
That wasn’t her style.
Uncomfortable and complicated as it was, Phoenix reached into the back pocket of her jeans and grabbed her cell phone.
What, exactly, had made her put it there earlier instead of her back pack, was a mystery; but a mystery she was grateful of.
Phoenix knew she could count on April and her new boyfriend’s job to get her out of the sticky spot she found herself in, so she wasted no time texting her best friend.
