Advanced MS Excel Formulas

The Advanced MS Excel® Formulas Study Brief aims to offer experienced Excel® users advice and techniques for working more productively and efficiently with spreadsheets in this easy-to-follow reference guide. A brief refresher of MS Excel® formula basics outlines some key fundamentals, including alternate ways to enter formulas, explanations of common MS Excel® errors and how to resolve them, as well as useful tips for entering and debugging formulas. Many useful examples of advanced formulas are provided. Steps for creating macros with the Visual Basic Editor (VBE) and performing basic tasks with user defined functions (UDFs) are reviewed. Tips and techniques for adding comments, using SUMIFs, performing two-way lookups and working with array formulas are included. Other sections cover creating charts, taking full advantage of PivotTables, importing data using Web Query function or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), working with conditional formatting and using various methods for data validation. An annotated list of recommended web resources and useful Internet links are included to encourage more detailed investigation into this topic.
