Love for Christmas

Kiki had only truly been in love once in her lifetime. Everyone she attempted to be with after her high school sweet heart, had been a poor comparison to him. He was easy to talk to, extremely smart, and he adored her. She was seventeen when she lost Shawn. When she returned to school for her senior year he was gone. They were in love and she had given herself to him, but now it was over. His family had moved out of state and she was forced to live with a broken heart.

After high school, she went to cosmetology school and became a stylist in Dallas, Texas. She focused on her career to avoid her feelings of heartbreak. Before she knew it, years had passed…and she was still alone. Her mother only made things worse by telling her that she was a fool to keep thinking about Shawn. She tried to show her that she was past him. So she made the only logical choice for her circumstance. During Thanksgiving dinner she lied to her family. “I’m engaged!” The words left her mouth before she could catch them. Now she had less than a month to find a fiance' and bring her parents the man of her dreams by Christmas.

Date after disappointing date left Kiki feeling inadequate, confused, and exhausted. She was running out of time. The Jones family Christmas dinner back in her hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana was getting closer and she would not let herself or her parents down. She made finding love her top priority and was careful not to turn down any possibility. The day was finally here. Would Kiki tell her parents the truth and admit to loneliness and defeat? Or would she bring the best man she could find in her journey to happiness? But the real question is whether she would ever find true love again?
